Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know about starting therapy at NEGU Counseling.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or just off — therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from counseling. Many people come to therapy to gain clarity, build coping skills, or work through a specific challenge. If something is affecting your daily life or relationships, it's worth talking to someone.
The first session is about getting to know you. Scott will ask about your background, what brought you in, and what you'd like to work on. It's a conversation, not an interview — there are no right or wrong answers. You'll also have a chance to ask any questions you have about the process.
It depends on your goals. Some people see meaningful progress in 6–10 sessions. Others benefit from longer-term work. Scott will work with you to set goals and adjust the plan as you go. There's no pressure to commit to a set number of sessions upfront.
Individual sessions are $100/hour. Couples sessions are $125/hour. Group sessions are $75/hour. Sliding scale rates are available upon request — contact us to discuss. We also accept 13+ major insurance plans.
